This little booklet was based on Der Struwwelpeter, an original book by Heinrich Hoffmann from 1845. The project was created at the University of Fine Arts in Poznan as part of my graphic design faculty. This book is interesting for several reasons. Firstly, The Golden Wand is one of the earliest children’s books to combine visual and verbal narrative and is considered a precursor to the comic books. Secondly, the exceptionally intelligent and witty stories can be a real challenge for the illustrators.
